Into the Archives: Docuseries (In Production)

INTO THE ARCHIVES is a six-episode docu-series about Black art and culture with the intention of preventing redlining in the metaverse. Using augmented reality to engage with archives, artwork and cultural artifacts, creative technologist Damien McDuffie brings new life to Black history with a focus on the revolutionary Black Panther Party. With Damien’s Black Terminus AR application, viewers are invited to activate artwork that appears in the show to expand the experience beyond the traditional screen.

Tales of the Town (2023)

The film captures the landscape, and the people and their stories in a poetic tribute to generations of Oaklanders–both the living and our ancestors! The film will be accompanied by an Art Exhibit which makes use of different artistic mediums to give the viewer an in-depth and personal look at the culture that has been birthed from nearly a century of Black life in the place affectionately dubbed “The Town.”

Oakland has birthed many an artist, the diversity of its streets forging a variety of talented individuals who have captivated a global audience. The Town’s latest star? ALLBLACK, a charismatic Murder Dubs native, known for his ability to spin vivid lyricism over energetic, trunk-rattling production. Over the past few years, he’s established himself as a staple in the local and national music scenes, his infectious personality attracting fans and collaborators alike. Now, with his debut album ringing through the city, ABOVE ALL takes a look behind the septum ring, at the man known as ALLBLACK, and the community that raised him.
